Workshop for Emerging Leaders of Color

What’s the Game and How Do You Play?

This session is designed to support emerging leaders of color in navigating the higher education landscape and the many “seen and unseen” challenges it poses particularly for people of color who are committed to disrupting inequitable, unjust, and unethical foundations and practics. In this Game, participants will move through and among 4 phases: Recognize, Reclaim, Reinvest, and Revitalize.

Friday, January 15

General Meeting

This is the central session. The meeting will include time to reflect on the framework, time to develop an action plan for your institution, and a discussion of the future directions of EDJE.

The EDJE framework is largely a reflective tool that helps us identify areas where we are invested in equity and areas where we need more work. But once you have identified areas that need significant attention, what next? Do you have a systematic way of moving practices, policies, and behavior toward more equitable ends? What  tools and processes does the team leverage to move from inequitable circumstances to more equitable systems? This session will introduce you to a tool and process for addressing these questions.

12:00-1:50pm ET

Research Directors Meeting

This meeting is for researchers from institutions who have been collecting data on how they have used the EDJE Framework. Come to the meeting to talk about where you are in your research project, especially in light of the changes in our work during COVID. In some cases, we will think together about how to restart our work in the implementation of the framework.

2:00-2:50pm  ET

Steering Committee

This is a meeting for EDJE Steering Committee members.
